Shepard Library Media Center
We are very proud of our library media center! Our collection includes more than 10,000 books and other materials that support Kate Shepard's mission of helping our students become lifelong learners.
Preschool through fifth grade will be visiting the library for projects, research, and instruction. Our library is also open for circulation daily. The collection is automated, meaning students can search for materials on the computer using Destiny.
Kate Shepard uses the Accelerated Reader (AR) program. Students read books on their reading level, then take a multiple choice reading comprehension test on the computer. Students must meet their goal, and have an avg. of 85% correct to be able to qualify for quarterly AR incentives.
The Library Media Center hours of operation are flexible. The regular hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on school days for both teachers and students.
